ADMISSION INFORMATION FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS
OF GUANGXI UNIVERSITY OF CHINESE MEDICINE (GXUCM)
一、学校介绍 INTRODUTION TO THE UNIVERSITY
广西中医药大学位于中国南方广西壮族自治区首府南宁市，创建于1956年，前身为1934年成立的广西省立医药研究所，是一所以中医药高等教育为主、集教学、科研、医疗及中成药生产为一体的综合性高等中医药大学。现有仙葫、明秀2个校区，总占地面积1311亩。学校现有全日制在校生17000余人，专任教师1144人，其中国医大师3人、全国名中医4人、全国优秀教师4人。学校设有16个学院、3所直属附属医院、1家制药有限公司。经国家教育部批准，学校具有学士、硕士和博士学位授予权，是中国第一批有条件接受外国留学人员的高等院校之一。学校从1976年开始接收外国留学生，是国家中医药管理局中国-东盟传统医药交流合作中心人才培养基地，国际交流和对外教育以东盟国家及港澳台地区为中心辐射全球。
Growing out of Guangxi Provincial Medical Institute established in 1934, Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine (GXUCM) was founded in 1956 and is located in Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south of China. It is a comprehensive university with the feature of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to provide higher education by integrating education, scientific research, medical service and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The university has 2 campuses, including Xianhu campus and Mingxiu campus, accounting for 1,311 mu (87.39 hectares). There are over 17,000 full-time students and 1,144 full-time teachers in GXUCM, including 3 State Grand Masters, 4 National Reputed TCM Physicians and 4 National Outstanding Teachers. GXUCM possesses 16 faculties, 3 direct-affiliated hospitals, 1 affiliated pharmaceutical factory, etc. The university has been authorized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China to offer Bachelor, Master and PhD degree programs. As one of the first universities allowed to enroll foreign students, GXUCM began the enrollment of foreign students in 1976. It is also the talent cultivation base of China-ASEAN Traditional Medicine Exchange and Cooperation Center approved by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Taking ASEAN countries, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions as its center, GXUCM has striven to become an academic leader in the international exchange and education all around the world.
二、学院介绍 INTRODUCTION TO THE FACULTY
广西中医药大学国际教育学院统一负责学校的国际交流与合作、港澳台事务，外国留学生和港澳台地区学生的招生、教学管理、学生工作及外教管理等工作。学院以学历教育为主，同时进行各种形式的中医学类长短期培训、一年制对外汉语培训。我校留学生规模日益扩大，办学层次不断提升，累计培养外国和港澳台本硕博学历生及长短期进修生共3800余名。我校留学生大楼是集教学、办公、学生住宿、餐饮服务等功能为一体的19层综合大楼，共有宿舍540间，其中双人间510间，单人间30间，可供1000余人入住。我院立足广西，面向东盟、展望全球，积极开展国际交流与合作，已与美国、德国、加拿大、马来西亚、泰国等多个国家和地区的多所高校或机构建立合作关系。
The Faculty of International Education of GXUCM has focused on international cooperation and exchange, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan affairs, enrollment, educational programs, etc. The faculty centers on degree education and also provides non-degree education including long & short-term programs (Chinese medicine) and one-year Chinese language program. With the increase of enrollment and the upgrade of the university, there are more than 3,800 international graduated students in total. The International Students’ Building is a 19-storey multifunction block integrating with education, administration, dormitory and catering. There are 540 dorms in this building, including 510 twin rooms and 30 single rooms available for more than 1,000 students. Taking ASEAN priority as the pattern of global cooperation, the faculty has established cooperative relations with umbers of universities and institutions from the United States, Germany, Canada, Malaysia, Thailand, etc.
三、美丽南宁 INTRODUCTION TO NANNING
南宁市位于广西壮族自治区南部，全市人口883万，是广西壮族自治区首府和政治、经济、文化中心，是中国面向东盟国家的区域性国际城市，中国—东盟博览会永久举办地。全市年平均气温21度左右，阳光充足，降水充沛，夏长冬短，一年四季绿树成荫，繁花似锦，素有“中国绿城”“天下民歌眷恋的地方”等美誉，先后荣获联合国人居奖和国家森林城市、中国优秀旅游城市等称号。
Nanning, as a capital city with a population of 8.83 million and a political, economic and cultural center, is located in the south of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is not only a regional international city opening to ASEAN countries, but also a permanent venue of China-ASEAN Expo. Owing to its moderate climate, Nanning has earned the titles as the "Green City", “Paradise of Folk Songs”, etc. and also has been awarded the UN Habitat Scroll of Honor Award, “National Forest City”, “Top Tourist City of China”, etc.
四、留学项目 EDUCATION PROGRAMS
（一）学历教育 Degree Programs
1、本科、硕士研究生和博士研究生项目
Undergraduate Program, Postgraduate Program and Doctoral Candidate Program
以上硕士研究生、博士研究生专业类型均为学术型，如申请专业型学位，必须满足其它条件，请另行咨询。
The postgraduate and doctoral candidate programs mentioned above all focus on academic degree study (research). The application for postgraduate and doctoral candidate programs in professional degree (clinical practice) shall meet other requirements, and more details can be acquired in further consultations.
（二）非学历教育 Non-degree Program
1、中医药长期生进修、短期生进修
Long & Short Term-study Programs (Chinese Medicine)
我校常年开设壮医、中医经典与临床、“国医大师”妇科经验与临床、“国医大师”中医骨伤经验与临床、解剖学、针灸、推拿、中医诊断、中药、方剂、中医保健美容以及中医内、外、妇、儿、皮肤各科长、短期课程及临床培训。短期培训每周教学安排不少于26学时，课程可根据申请者的入学水平和学习要求制定相应的教学计划（详细情况需咨询招生老师）。
The program provides theoretical curriculum and clinical practice, varying in Zhuang medicine, clinical experience based on Chinese medical classics, State Grand Master’s clinical experience on gynecology of Chinese medicine, State Grand Master’s clinical experience on orthopedics and traumatology of Chinese medicine, anatomy, acupuncture & moxibustion and Tuina, diagnostics of Chinese medicine, Chinese materia medica, formula of Chinese medicine, healthcare and cosmetology of Chinese medicine, Chinese internal medicine, surgery of Chinese medicine, gynecology of Chinese medicine, pediatrics of Chinese medicine, dermatology of Chinese medicine, etc. The length of study is no less than 26 academic hours each week, and the study plan will be custom-made based on the applicants’ academic level.
注：3人或3人以上团组或单人学习时间超过3个月的学费从优。所有学费在入学时一次性缴清，如中途退学，学费不退还。
Note: For groups of 3 or above students, or a student with a length of study over 3 months will enjoy a discount on tuition fee. All tuition fee must be fully paid before the study begins. The tuition fee will not be refunded if the applicant withdraws from study half-way.
2、汉语培训班 Chinese Language Programs
（1）学费（人民币）：14000元/年、7000元/学期
Tuition: 14,000 RMB yuan per year; 7,000 RMB yuan per term
五、入学要求 Admission Requirements
1、基本要求 Basic Requirements
持有外国有效护照的非中国籍公民，对华友好，遵守中华人民共和国法律和学校学籍管理规定，尊重中国人民的风俗习惯。申请人护照有效期从报名日起应至少有一年以上。中国公民移民外国后以“外国留学生”身份申请入学者需持有有效护照或本国国籍证明4年及以上、且近两年（截至入学年度的4月30日前）每年居住在本国的时间累计不少于9个月（以出境和入境签章为准）。品行端正，无犯罪记录，身体健康状况符合中国政府规定的体检要求。学习时间超过6个月的须提交《外国人体格检查记录》。
As the foreign citizen with the foreign passport valid for at least one year from the date of application, the applicant shall be friendly to China, abide by the laws of the People's Republic of China and the regulations of GXUCM, as well as respect the customs and habits of the Chinese people. Chinese citizens who apply for admission as foreign students after emigrating to other countries shall hold a valid passport or nationality certificate of the country of immigration for at least 4 years and have resided in the country for at least 9 months (based on the records of exit and entry stamps) respectively in recent two years (before April 30th of the year of admission). With good conduct and no criminal records, the applicant shall meet the physical examination requirements stipulated by the Chinese government. The applicant tending to study in China over 6 months shall submit The Foreigner's Physical Examination Record.
本科生：高中毕业或具有同等学历
Undergraduate applicants shall obtain a high school diploma or equivalent education level.
硕士研究生：获得学士学位或具有同等学历。应届本科毕业生最迟须在报到前获得学士学位。
Postgraduate applicants shall obtain a bachelor degree or equivalent education level. The current year’s undergraduate students shall obtain the bachelor degree before reporting to the university.
博士研究生：入学要求获得硕士学位或具有同等学历，学业成绩、学术水平等条件须达到所申请专业的入学要求。应届硕士毕业生最迟须在报到前获得硕士学位。
Doctoral applicants shall obtain a master degree or equivalent education level, and the academic performance and level shall meet the admission requirements of the majors applied. The current year’s postgraduate students shall obtain the master degree before reporting to the university.
长短期进修生：各类医药院校的毕业生、临床医生以及中医爱好者等均可申请。
Graduates from medical colleges and universities, clinical practitioners, enthusiasts of Chinese medicine, etc. are all welcomed to apply the long & short term-study programs.
一年制汉语生：高中毕业或具有同等学历。
Applicants for one-year Chinese Language program shall obtain a senior high school diploma or equivalent education level.
本科及硕士研究生：新汉语水平考试（HSK）4级。
The Chinese level of undergraduate and postgraduate applicants shall meet the demand of the Level 4 of the new Chinese proficiency test (HSK).
博士研究生：新汉语水平考试（HSK）5级。
The Chinese level of doctoral applicants shall meet the demand of the Level 5 of the new Chinese proficiency test (HSK).
如母语为汉语，或在海外华文授课的中学或大学毕业并能提供相关证明，或最近几年在中国大学接受汉语授课的学位课程者，则可免除对HSK成绩的要求。
If the applicant is a native Chinese speaker, or has graduated from a secondary school or university of Chinese language education abroad and can provide relevant certificates, or received degree courses in Chinese universities in recent years, the HSK requirement shall be ignored.
六、申请流程 How to Apply
1、登录广西中医药大学国际教育学院查看所报读项目的招生简章并准备相应材料，请将材料的电子版按顺序发送到fie@gxtcmu.edu.cn，邮件标题为“本科/研究生申请材料+国籍+申请人姓名”，等待学校审核。
The applicant shall access to the official website of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine to prepare the relevant materials mentioned above in accordance with the admission information, and then email an electronic version of application materials titled as“application program + applicant’s name and nationality”to fie@gxtcmu.edu.cn for a further review.
2、 经学校审核并得到上级教育主管部门批准后，寄出《录取通知书》、《入学须知》和《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》（JW202表）。
After examination and approval by the university and education authorities, the Admission Letter and JW202 Form will be sent.
3、申请者凭《录取通知书》和JW202表向中国驻所在国大使馆或领事馆申请X签证。
Applicants apply for X visa with the Admission Letter and JW202 Form in the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General.
七、奖学金 Scholarships
1、广西政府东盟国家留学生奖学金 Guangxi Government Full Scholarship for ASEAN Students
仅限于东盟国家学生申请，全额奖学金免学费和住宿费并且每月发放生活补助，优秀奖学金奖励大学二年级以上在校表现优异的东盟国家学生。详情见每年的奖学金招生简章和评奖通知。
The scholarship is designated to students from ASEAN countries. Tuition and accommodation fees are waived and the living subsidy is provided monthly. Guangxi Government Excellency Scholarship for ASEAN Students is only available for those at the second year or above in outstanding performances. More details can be seen in the annual admission information and scholarship notice.

八、学校生活 Campus Life
1、食堂 Canteens
明秀校区有两个食堂，其中一个为民族餐厅，仙葫校区有三个学生食堂，菜品丰富，选择多样，均可供学生就餐。
There are five canteens in total serving various dishes and snacks for students in both campuses, including a ethnic canteen in the Xianhu campus.
2、住宿 Dormitory
明秀校区留学生公寓：500元/床/月（双人间），900元/床/月（单人间）；
仙葫校区集体宿舍（六人间）：1300元/床/学年。
The accommodation fee of the Mingxiu campus includes 500 RMB yuan/bed/month (twin room) and 900 RMB yuan/bed/month (single room only available via further application). The accommodation fee of the Xianhu Campus is 1,300 RMB yuan/bed/year (6-bed room).
3、医疗 Health Care
明秀校区附近有广西壮族自治区民族医院、我校第一附属医院仁爱分院等可供学生就医，仙葫校区校内设有卫生所。在校就读期间，外国留学生须购买医疗保险。
There are several medical facilities providing health care services for students, including the National Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Ren'ai Branch Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of GXUCM beside the Mingxiu campus, as well as the health center in the Xianhu Campus. All foreign students must purchase the medical insurance each year.
4、学生活动 Student Activities
学院定期举办各类文体活动并鼓励学生参加校内外举办的各类竞赛活动和文化交流活动，丰富留学生的课外生活。
The faculty organizes various activities regularly and encourages students to participate in competition activities and cultural exchange programs in all levels.
九、其他 Others
1. 未满18岁者，来校前须自行办理监护人手续。
An applicant under 18 years old must be accompanied by a guardian for his/her study in GXUCM.
2. 新生报到时，须交纳报名费400元/人。
New students must pay registration fee 400 RMB yuan/person when reporting to the university.
